Wrestling “the original Olympic sport” is one of the most rewarding and physically challenging sports in existence. It’s not for the meek; It demands discipline, hard work, self reliance, focus and mental toughness!
You win or lose on your own, there is no place to hide on the mat; it is an INDIVIDUAL – team sport!
The Fairfield Wrestling program and its youth club is one of the oldest and most successful in southwestern Ohio. We have more state champions and state placers than any other program in southwestern Ohio, all but one state champion started in the Kids club (7 of 8). The Club teaches the fundamentals, keeping it fun so the kids continue wrestling and are successful at the Middle, High School and college levels. Almost all the club’s coaches are a products of the program, all have years (most have tens of years) of experience. Both Coach Barden and Coach Woodall were NCAA qualifiers during their college careers!
The same technique is taught at all levels in the Fairfield Wrestling program (Kid's Club, Middle and High School). It is this consistency, hard work ethic, and disciplined approach that is the hallmark of our success.
Winning is a by-product. We do not stress winning; rather the attributes that make a winner.
Overview
We welcome anyone who is in the 6th grade or younger, not afraid of sweating, not a afraid of mixing it up, not afraid of hard work hard, interested in improving themselves & their wrestling skills, wants to be a member of a successful team, wants to have fun and learn/experience what it takes to be a winner. Instruction/practice/drills/conditioning/wrestling time is on T-W-Th-F nights in the Middle School Wrestling Room. Sunday Tournaments are sponsored by the member clubs of the (CYW) Cincinnati Youth Wrestling Assn. (9 to Noon & 1 to 5PM paired by age/weight and some by experience). On a few Saturdays, we scrimmage or wrestle off for a team event (you wrestle for a spot on the team like middle and high school). The Sunday tournaments are focused on the individual (cost is $10 to $15) and attendance is not required but highly encouraged. Our coaches are there for those who want to participate and see the results of their efforts.
Program- 2 tiered: Instructional/Novice & Experienced – same curriculum – different pace

The season runs from the first of November through mid January ending with our Fairfield Youth Tournament and attendance at the banquet in March.
Phase II moves at a faster pace and is geared to more experienced/serious wrestlers and requires a greater commitment. They practice technique on Thursday & Friday from 7:00 to 8:45 PM; Wednesday is drill/conditioning from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. Tuesday is Warrior night from 6:30 to 8:00 PM, which is open wrestling in our room with other area clubs. The season runs from first week of November and ends with the Ohio Grade School State Tournament in March. For those who do not wish to participate in the post season District and State tournaments, the season ends with the CYW Tournament in mid February and attendance at the banquet in March.
